Motiv8 Project

In 2017, Home-Start Trafford and Salford will be offering its core service of home-visiting support to families living in Wigan, as part of a Big Lottery and European Social funded project called Motiv8.

Led by social housing landlord New Charter Group, the project aims to improve the lives of our most vulnerable people here in Greater Manchester.

We will be working with people from the ages of 25 and upwards who may be experiencing homelessness, long-term unemployment, living with disabilities/health conditions or who are alcohol or drug dependent.

The project will tackle the barriers that prevent these groups of people from accessing support with more opportunities for education and training, improved health and well- being services, better financial help and new programmes to build people’s confidence.

Home-Start will be one of several specialist partners involved in the Motiv8 project.  We will be providing support to parents accessing the project to help to raise their confidence and increase their coping ability. Using our core home- visiting work, we will offer a range of practical and emotional support through a weekly visit from a trained volunteer.
